The Live-Deal Brief Template for B2B SaaS Founders
5 min read31 May 2026
Most active deals do not need another meeting. They need a clearer brief: what stage the deal is in, who matters, what is blocking movement, what proof is missing, and who owns the next action.
The brief should include
- Buyer, deal size, close target, and current stage.
- Champion, economic buyer, technical buyer, and blocker.
- What the buyer cares about now.
- Current risk: budget, timing, legal, security, procurement, or competitor.
- Proof needed for the next step.
- Recommended follow-up language.
- Owner and deadline.
The point
The brief makes the next move obvious. It prevents the founder, AE, product lead, and sales engineer from carrying different versions of the deal in their heads.
